Homeobox genes encode DNA-binding proteins, many of which are thought to be involved in early embryonic development. Homeobox genes encode a DNA-binding domain of 60 to 63 amino acids referred to as the homeodomain. This gene is a member of the RAXLX homeobox gene family. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] Function: Transcription factor that regulates gene expression in intestine. May participate in vitamin A metabolism most likely by regulating BCMO1 expression in the intestine. Subcellular Location: Nucleus. Similarity: Contains 1 homeobox DNA-binding domain. Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded (Mouse small intestine); Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with (ISX) Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-18172R) at 1:500 overnight at 4°C, followed by a conjugated secondary (sp-0023) for 20 minutes and DAB staining.
